The yearly booklets, formerly Annual Impact Reports, form an historical record of the organization’s activities.

The Annual Report captures some of the AAVSO’s activities within the prior fiscal year (ending September 30th). Although the format has evolved over the years, the Report includes letters from the AAVSO Board President and Executive Director, the Treasurer’s Report, commentary from the Annual Meeting, and a list of Argelander Society members. It also recognizes the donors and sponsors who supported the AAVSO during the fiscal year.

Annual Report 2009-10

This was a year of consolidation and rebirth. We lost a couple of staff members and changed web developers, but at the same time developed and released a new web site. AAVSOnet continues to grow, and APASS is underway. We’ve made plans for our centennial year. All in all, it was a busy and productive year, as evidenced below!

We’ve had a remarkably busy year, even with the poor economy. AAVSOnet was extended, private funding was found for many projects, and close to another two million observations were submitted to the AAVSO International Database. The big news was the award of a major NSF grant to the AAVSO. I’ll open with that story!

The biggest single event of this past year was the relocation of the AAVSO Headquarters. We had been in our first purchased ‘home’ at 25 Birch Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for two decades. That building served us well, providing the extra room we needed to handle increased staff during the 1990s . . .
